Dear Friends,

The Gayton Kirk Easter Celebration was wonderful! One of our visitors said, “You have so much talent for a church your size.” Isn’t that the truth??!!! And then there were the traditions that make Easter special for all ages: the Flowering of the Cross, the Easter Egg Hunt and the new Easter Egg Roll! Sarah Collins won the first roll this year, I’m not sure who won the second roll, and there are several people whose eggs just rolled away. I’m so glad that we were able to be outside for our events.

Which brings me to our Earth Day Celebration.  On April 19th from 10 Am – 1:30 PM.

we will have information tables, garden projects and an outside workday around the Kirk, food for sale, and then at
1:30 we will stop everything for the Blessing of the Animals.

Please plan to participate and invite your neighbors to join with us… remember to keep your animals on a leash.

When God created human beings we were first given the responsibility of caring for creation. I hope that our space on the corner of Gayton and Ryandale becomes a place where we teach our children how to grow plants and care for the wooded area; I hope we use our gardens as places for us to nurture our own relationships with the earth; and I hope our neighbors feel compelled to walk over to the Kirk, enjoy our gardens and paths, and find this space a witness to God’s refreshing presence.

Janet
